Kazi Mtaani Likii recreational park , located behind the Muslim cemetery in Nanyuki is taking a big step in restoring its former glory. The park has been cleaned up, trees have been planted and activities such as collecting garbage and planting trees have been organized. The program was hailed as a success. The attendees had various backgrounds; some were university students and some were employed in different organizations. They were all committed to restoring for future generations to enjoy. The program was also supported by the county government of Laikipia, The organizers hope that this venture will serve as an example of community-driven environmental efforts and encourage other communities to take action. The idea to organize a clean-up drive started at a meeting of the environmentalist. The idea was proposed by one of the group members.
